I thought people on this forum might find this interesting. I was on Second Life (a MMORPG) when I came across a squashed but well-made recreation of Dublin that someone has made up. See these photos, it's not a bad sim:

Londis looks very odd indeed. But the baileys sign in that pic kinda brings it back into reality. Pretty decent apart from the scale.

What is this? Is it on the net or is it a game you bought in a shop? Or a mix of both?

It's a free download (at http://secondlife.com), but you have to pay for land, and for objects unless you make them yourself (it has its own scripting language).

Pretty good I guess. The strangest part is the lack of people though!

apexaviour don't download that game! you'll end up addicted and selling your cloths to buy more land from some crazy japanse 13 year old.

That looks pretty sweet :) I've been meaning to have a stab at making a Battlefield or Quake 3 map of college.

ah battlefield map of trinity would be brilliant - imagining sniping someone from one of the windows in front square - preferably someone who's nick was [Catholic]xxx just for traditions sake :)
