Yes It's sad for the family, but imagine if it was your car he had stolen and 'rallied' around in and you then heard he crashed killing himself. I think at least for a second anyway, you would feel sheer joy. maybe later then you would feel sorry.

Well the only good thing to come out of it is that if it was a regular 'thing' him and his mates did, I'm sure his mates won't go out stealing cars again in a hurry. Hopefully girls/guy who do this sort of thing, read the papers and cop themselves on.

Not so sure about that, I know of a girl in Dublin who choked on her own vomit after taking XTC. Her mates thought it would be a good tribute to her to take a tab each after the funeral! Dopey b*stards!

Some people just don't know when to stop :(

My Dad's friend was in hospital in Cork a few years back and was in the room next to a lad who had crashed a stolen car, and was so badly brain damaged he would just crawl around on all fours, screeching like an animal.

While my Dad's friend was still in the hospital, this lad's brother was brought into intensive care after another joyriding accident.

LOL! Natural selection at work. I have zero sympathy for joyriders. Doesn't bother me in the slightest when I hear that they have creamed themselves in a smash.

    Amen Bro.

If some one stole my car and wrapped it around a lampost killing the thief I for one would be upset, as my NCB would be gone after the claim.

Better they kill themselves instead of other people.

Natural selection will hopefully take care of that. :p

Seriously no sympathy. As someone else said, better they kill themselves than other people.

This really is an AH thread; I'm going to throw it over there (long after I really should have).

    Moved from News/Media to AH

True, but all too often they take some innocent by-stander with them, or they walk away after killing someone else. Karmic justice that time but I think it's far too infrequent.
