Xbox360 media centre using a crossover cable

Has anybody connected to the Xbox360 media centre using a crossover cable? I can stream music and photos but can not manage to connect to the media centre. Any ideas? It's doing my head in!!:mad:

there is a patch you need to download to the MCE pc for it to work, The 360 should give a message with the url etc. during the setup process, that has to be installed before they'll talk.
