Memory usage

Hello there,

My computer has been a little slow of late and I've noticed that the physical memory use is up around the 65+% mark. This seems very high to me as, other then XP a few programmes like firefox, spybot, iTunes etc., I'm not running anything that would demand such a large chunck of memory. Even after i close down all these processes, the memory use is still at ~50%. again this seems high to me.

*XP home sp2
*2 x 512mb TwinMoss Ram
*Athlon64 3000+

I've had a look at the log from hijack this and i cant see anything out of the ordinary - though I'm no expert. I can post this if would be of help.

Before anyone suggests otherwise, I HAVE run multiple AV/spyware scans and found nothing out of the blue.

How many processes have you running and whats the biggest usage monster?

Open Task Manager -> Processes. Click View, then Select Columns. Make sure Memory Usage and Peak Memory Usage are ticked. Post up a screen capture of the resulting information

OK, typically it's dropped down to 40% now with all these procsses running. Before it has greater than 40% with hardly any of the large ones running.
