I'll comment as soon as deviant loads. I've had this with Shrimp before but I find that site a pain. Not all the time but too regularly. :(

Deviant is particularly annoying I find. The pictures are either HUGE or tiny ickle. Haven't they heard of 600px longest side???

Anyway I won't let that influence the pictures themselves :)

I did like the first one, it didn't jump out at me probably because there's a lot going on. But at the same time, it's also giving more of a story than just a straight portrait.

The second one, I really liked but thought that the contrast was a bit much and it doesn't make her skin look nice. It would work well as a more complete high key image I think, to bring up the midtones as well and just keep a little detail in there.

The third was my favourite :) I like the expression you've caught, and her eyes really stand out. It's just a wee tiny bit too blown out again though I think, and it takes away from the overall effect.

Cheers- I think your right about each of them -specially the third one being a bit whited out particularly in the lower left side. I need to learn more about photoshop to know how to get that part looking the way I want it to. All those comments make sense and are on the money.

    Thanks for the info.

PS in Dev - sometimes you get an ad page - the continue on the top right should get past that.

No it didn't take that long to load but a few pints last night and that amazing MUNSTER!!!!!! team distracted me.

I like the contrast and feel of them all. I find the flex in the first ine a little too distracting. The third is my favourite. I like the burnt out look and I think the contrast is spot on. It's definitely to my taste anyway.

I am shaggin' drained after that match though!!!! :D:p:)

Nice work ,didn't know you were professional

How much does it cost for the studio ,or do you own that too:D ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 794 ✭✭✭ChityWest

Not professional at all (I wish).

The studio is www.dublinstudios.com on O'connell st and it is 40 euro per hour. The guy who runs it is dead friendly - offered that if I turned up 30 mins early he would run through all the studio & lighting gear etc.

Even offered me the free lend of some of his 'L' lenses (I stuck to my own in the end). Pm me if anyone wants the mobile number for them - definitely recommended.

I'm not fond of over exposed shots at all, and black and white doesn't make that any better...

However, may I throw all photographic-talk out the window by saying - Dude, if the chick's hot, the photo can't be too bad! :)
If she's not you're sister, then all the better ;)

    My number is 078...
