Anyone here know where I might get a car charger for my 12" 1Ghz Pbook? It goes without saying, the cheaper the better and I don't mind if it's new or used but so long as it works, I will be happy.

    Ideas?

Have you thought of getting a power invertor. Basically attached to your battery or cigarette lighter an invertor increases power to Mains Voltage and has an ordinary socket to plug anything into. A small one will power almost anything though you can get large ones to run power hungry units like microwave ovens.

An average one would retail in shops at about 50 euro but on line who knows. They are handy in the fact you can use almost anything and are commong in caravans and very popuular with truck drivers.

Not the answer you were looking for but would do.

I didn't think of an inverter, though I would prefer a charger because I want to get use of the Pbook alone (An inverter would mean the temptation of my Imac in the car...) :D

I think the inverters are in Maplin, yes?

inverter would be my last choice. Bulky, produces more heat and uses more juice.

You can get PSU's that run on Mains and 12v from kensington and macally.

Back from the future might have the kensington.

Website for Apple Ireland has a couple of choices if you search their store.

One is a Belkin DC-to-AC adaptor (inverter) and the other is Dr Bott auto/air adaptor. Not cheap though.

fastest Mac on the four wheels?

"[The car] has it's own Ethernet network, with small 8 port switch under the rear seats and total of 4 outlets in the armrest and the middle console. If a passenger has a laptop computer, he/she can connect to the network to access data on car's hard disk or share the PowerMac's internet connection. The PowerMac is also equipped with an AirPort card, that can be used for connection to Wi-Fi networks wherever available. This possibility is mainly used for smaller updates and software/data download from my home network or for internet connection at places with public hot-spots (such as selected Shell fuel stations)."

Ok folks, after a bit of searching, Mactivate have said charger in stock for €75 Ex Vat, while the Mac Shop have one but at €115 Ex Vat. After a lot of searching, the same product was coming in at and about the £60-£70 range so Mactivate just about get there on price. I didn't like the look of the one you had on the link, Zener, it didn't specify if it was mac-able, though it seemed ok and it looked a bit fiddly though the price was excellent (Maybe too excellent, may well order it and see if I get the chance.

But thank you all for your help, much appreciated :D

To be honest from my experience I wouldn't bother with Trust products they are cheap and not always cheerful.

Thats just my opinion haveing sold the stuff.
