Its no secret on here that i've seen quite a few in my time. Though I find it difficult to understand when i read books where people have actually gotten used to it.

(by the way I'm sure a wonderful mod like PSi will correct your spelling in the topic title if you pm and ask nice - its a little confusing)

What you saw....were they just orbs or any fully-fledged apparitions? Can we see some? :)

    Like Katie said.

Not sure what you mean by can you see them, but i tend not to have a camera on me or a film crew when i expereince things. And even when i do get a photo i tend not to see things with my naked eye, just feel things.

I thought the spelling was accurate and we were being asked to cite our own sightings. In fact, if I were doing TV, I think that's what I'd call my show. (Has anybody ever been commissioned because they have a neat title already in mind - I mean, apart from Parkinson, obviously?)

I've never seen a ghost. I would sell my both my grandmothers for the chance to do so, but one of them would probably come back to haunt me, and I wouldn't want that, would I? Consequently, I'm more skeptical about the underlying nature of ghost sightings than I am of, say, fairies. You can track the folklore from ancient to modern and find a cultural need for fairies (and, of course, for ghosts), a need currently being fulfilled by greys, but ghosts appear to be of a far more fundamentally misinterpreted origin.

Now, stay with me on this, the next sentence looks a little convoluted, even for me. To my reasonably broad knowledge, no one has yet reputably recorded a direct interaction with a ghost that has not occurred at night, often in a bedroom, and to which the contactee has just been awakened. That is, Direct Interaction, like a coherent conversation or physical contact. I know I'm going to be corrected on this, in fact I'm really hoping that I will be corrected, but again as far as I am aware Sightings have typically been just sightings, mostly in darkness, and as such can frequently be interpreted as: Shadows, misinterpreted shapes or movements, aberrations of the sighter's eyes, wish fulfillment, dream-state imagings, tricks of the light, wafting fabrics, reinterpreted recollections, second-party reenforced evaluations, drunken stupors, inventions or excuses (not necessarily hoaxes), religiously inspired fervour, self-hypnosis and/or delusion, other atmospherics and even other paranormal phenomena wrongly diagnosed.

Some will say they have seen ghosts, and by 'ghost' I refer exclusively to the spiritual residue of someone who was once alive but is now dead, and they will be unshakable in that assertion. I won't deny the possibility of the accuracy of it. I have a Christian faith that tells me Jesus was a ghost on Easter Sunday, Year One, but it hasn't happened to me, so I will always wonder if it might not actually be a pre- or post-cognitive vision, an ambient recording, a telepathic communication, an encounter with someone else's oob experience or a host of other things that my interpretation of the nature of the universe actually allows for.

I live for the day that every theory I ever had is proved wrong, because that's the day we'll all have all the answers.

I've seen lots of orbs, mists and flashes of light but not a fully fledged ghost. Unless you count my near death experience.

I myself have only ever seen 'Streaming Ghost Energy'.

Edit - In photos after an investigation.

And what did you think when you saw it Ziycon? And did it affect your opinion of the paranormal?

What happened in that? Sorry to hear about that but what did you see? If that's okay question. :)

And if they like appearing at night then why is that?

Umm...I'm not big into the paranormal but I've posted once or twice. Basically what do ghosts do? It seems quite pointless if they just stand there and fade in and out. And how come some ghosts are meant to be almost corporeal wheras others are, as above, streaky mists? Just curious.

The near death thing do you mean? If so. I was really ill and got up out of bed and went to my bedroom door. When I opened the door there was just bright light and all the people I knew that had died where there waiting for me, they were all dressed in white as well. I knew if I went out of the door that I wouldn't come back so I got back into bed. It was really vivid.

With the orbs and flashes of light I can see them at any time of day. It just happens out of the blue.

Do you think you stepped out of your body at that time? Did you see your body from outside?

Its strange because I didn't see my body from the outside (mind you I didn't look behind me to where my bed was), but I did feel like I stepped outside my body (hard to explain). I was really calm, saw them all there and thought no its not right and then bang I was back in my bed again.

    Couldn't have been a dream?

No it was too vivid to be a dream.

Hi, Lou. I think everybody's too busy describing their experiences here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054896242

If you haven't already, you should check it out. Lots of anecdotal and first-hand stuff.
