    Hi ,

need a pci-e graphics card (will buy -not searching fr one here :D ).

Have about 150 odd to spend -for mainly games.
Possibly an ATI chip to use avivo to do my dvd-to-dvix converting.

I usually use Komplett so try there -just not sure which one !!

    thx in advance.

Well first off AVIVO is a great DVD decoder but the transcoder isn't that hot the reason its so fast is it sacrifices quality to do it. Your much better off using a standalone program if you want to retain some of the quality from the original source material. Use something free like AutoGK or Staxrip which can convert to H.264 as well as XviD.

That said if ATI is your preference the X1600 Pro falls under the €150 limit.

However if you really want ATI go for the X1600XT at €168 as it is a better then the lower clocked Pro.

Personally I would go with the 7600GS €145 which is faster than both of the above or the best option would be the 7600GT €202 which is even faster if you can stretch your budget.

7600gt is supposed to be a good mid-range card
