Take a look at the thread in BlondePoker HERE. They ask you for ur CC details to get $10k whilst playing on Laddies. Julian Thew got duppped but cancelled his card in time.

"All credit toooooo Blonde Poker" as Keano would say.

saw those pop-ups alright this eve.
Funny tho cos I mailed them the other day complaining that they were using too many system pop-ups to pimp tourneys. They use about 10 an hour!!
    MAybe now they'll stop!!:p

I don't understand how people fall for stuff like this (especially otherwise smart people), but it seems to happen all the time.

Yeah it's crazy. Julian's a great poker player too, and obviously pretty smart. I suppose he was just on auto pilot or whatever, and generally you do tend to trust stuff that comes from, or appears to come from, a reputable site like ladbrokes. Did you see the pop up yourselves? It was worded really badly, obviously written by a non English speaker, so this makes it all the more incredible that so many people fell for it.

I don't play Ladbrokes but saw this last night...

These pop-ups are a disgrace.. the fact that Ladbrokes didn't stop their servers and try and fix this problem is nothing short of negligence.

A friend last week was playing and got sent a link to a page (that looked like the bbc homepage, with a story of a scam). It had a download that contained a VNC type client (i.e. they can see and potentially control you desktop).

It all looked very legit, alot of people are going to be fooled by this, so........

EVERYONE BOYCOTT LADBROKES UNTIL THEY GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED
