Some nice tournies there Duke, i can see the €100 game on Wed with 30min clock all night being very poular as well as the Sunday game. BTW is it over 18s or over21s? Over 18s will get ya more players!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,404 ✭✭✭Goodluck2me

that freeroll prize sounds spectacular, but the way things are going youll porb only get 5-6 games out of thanks to mcdowel.. best of luck with the casino Duke regardless, some great sounding tourneys there,

is the first night just capped at 60 or all nights?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 286 ✭✭Dukebox

    alright
all taunies are capped at 60 there could of been a few more tables in but it would of of made the club very cramped also the club has a monimum age of 18 game on!!!!

This is very very close to DIT Aungier St, DIT Poker Soc will be up to annoy you for student friendly specials etc etc closer to September... great looking tourneys, best of luck Duke!

Why dont we get a personal boards last longer bet goin for this? how many of us are intending on going in?
As is obvious he (duke) seems to be trying to open a pure poker club, with the 30 min blind levels all night on wed etc, this shows it. We can catch most of the footy and still make the poker - lets make the effort for the first night to ensure its full!

So who all's interested in playing? Iona about time you won a last longer bet!!!

I went in there for drunken cash action after a belly full of pints and saw player x split it with another player. Nice relaxed and close set up in there and my mate was on the complimentary champagne all night!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,587 ✭✭✭gerire

What was the attendance/payout like, did you happen to hear?

Its been a month since my last live game so, girlfriend is on holiday, I am definately heading into the 50 double chance tomorrow anybody else planning to go in?

not sure tbh too many pints. Think i heard €1150 for first before the deal ... i remember there were 5 players left at 2.30 and it was level 9 with 500/1000 blinds. mad what information gets stored away. there was 3 cash tables running and some nice food about too!

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,859 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

    What cash games/levels were running?

Are there many tables overall in the place? Is there only poker or are there other table games too?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

Stand to be corrected but 7 tables total i think. I was playing round of each 50 game there was 100 omaha game and a holdem only game think it was a 50 game but not 100%.

Its affiliated with the colossus so the gaming is over there - 10 sec walk opposite its door and poker in this nice set up imo
Brand new tables and nice atmosphere .. but i was drunk!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,141 ✭✭✭ocallagh

I played the 100 FO. Great game, great service. Totally impressed. 30 min blind levels, all dealers are top quality. Free buffet!!! We even got free champagne/wine all night!! It's a great setup and I'm looking forward to my next trip in.

The game was fun. i went out on the bubble when my stop n' go walked into trips.... Apart from one hand (T8s), player X played some great poker and deserved to take it down. I witnessed one of the most deceptive hands ever played.. I have a new found respect for him after Wed! I know he blows it out is arse a lot.. but he generally doesn't give a ****.. When he plays seriously he is a very tough opponent to have at the table..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,183 ✭✭✭jobless

i was there last night...very enjoyable game (love the 30 min blinds)...and nice club.....
only bad part of the night was dodging all the drunks on the way home in the car!

Wasn't overly impressed to be honest. The blind levels at the start were great idea but found that the dealers were particularly slow and the game in general bored me.

15 Runners in total, personally was expecting more. Standard was ok it should have been easy to go deep, I was at 7k at the break and sitting comfortably enough having only actually had one hand the rest of my chips were stolen. Went out a disapointing 9th after my stack was blinded down to a dangerous level, AQ didn't hold up against 10 10. Dave Doyle(an empty seat for most of the night TBH) and big John were the 2 chip leaders when I left and 7 left.

Paying out top 3 with 1 and 2 getting into the freeroll for the free entry to the 100 game for the year

Another great addition to the poker scene in dublin. We're spoilt for choice at the moment. I was surprised only 12 turned up for the 50 freezeout. I limped into 2nd place and got my ticket for the freeroll 30 place game. When is that one Duke?

I recommend going there tomorrow night if the hundred game in the Fitz is too expensive. First and 2nd will get into the freeroll and I reckon only 2-3 tables will turn up.

i went in last night for the 50 game too, amazing set up... i reckon with time this could be the place to be for tournements. Congrats on the 2nd place doc, which table were you at? i think i was first out from table 2 after KK got cracked by a8... jackpot club highly recommended.

I was on the other table hung over and mean. as usual. If you're organising studenty things with DIT i think Duke would be interested in doing a few deals. Great venue for it.

I was actually saying that to Jeff yesterday that we should try to come to some arrangement that our final table is played over there or something as we have to be out of college by half eight so it puts time restraints in place coming down to the last table.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

yea, i spoke to duke about this yesterday evening and he thinks its a great idea to get students in. I said we'd iron out the details closer to september but pretty sure our final tables will be played there from now on.

yeh i came third, even though when i got knocked out id twice your chips Des.
nothing i could do when my JJ lost to 44. Funnilly enuf it was my m8 who knocked me out, and here was me thinkin that we'd split it heads up! haha.

Jeff he's the same guy who got lucky against you.

enjoyable tournie, and hopefully with time it could take off.

That free roll tournie is on the 11th of june, sunday at 4pm
