Upgrading Handsfree Kit?

Already posted this here with limited success:
Just bought a car which has a Nokia handsfree kit installed. I think it might be CARK134 (phone cradle is MCC-7 and controller is HFU-5). It fits my old 3330 phone. Unfortunately, I've now got a 6230 and the wife has a 6610i, both of which have similar connectors on the bottom. Anyone know if I can change the cable / cradle to make the kit compatible with the newer phones?

AFAIK a new cradle and cable might just do the job. Call Autoglaze on 01 453 8555. I use them for a lot of phone fitting and they seem to know thier stuff.

I think the kit you have is a CARK 128, (includes HFU-5 and MCC 4?) - this is common kit for a 3330. (you can check it through google.)

The 6610i and newer nokias have a "pop-port" (CARK126) connection on the end of them. You can buy conversion kits to go from CARK128 to a pop port.

example of it is at http://www.expansys.ie/product.asp?code=124992

    or

    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/6138.htm

look around for different prices - expansys might not be the cheapest place. should be able to do it yourself if a kit is already installed.

Im guessing this is what you were after.

Nice one - the Expansys one actually works out cheaper - €55 delivered as opposed to c. €67. Might give that Autoglaze crowd a shout too. Thanks folks.
