Missing connection for digital camera

Hey, I've lost my connection (from camera to computer) for my digital camera. I got it in Argos, it's a Vivitar make. Was just wondering where I can get a new one and if any Vivitar digital camera connection will do or do I have to get the specific make of mine? Sorry I'm useless with these things, hope someone can let me know where I could buy one. Thanks.

What does the connector on the camera look like? If you're lucky it'll be a standard mini-USB connector, in which case you'll be able to get a generic USB cable from either a computer store or a camera shop.

It will be one of two standard types of USB cable. Much more likely the smaller of the two - which is about 7mm wide on top, 5mm on bottom. Same type is used by a lot of MP3 players.

You could bring the camera with you to the shop to be sure. If you are not near a shop, check the manual for the cable description, then order it online from ITDirect or somesuch. Should cost about €5 + p&p.
