Hi i have a five year old boy who absolutely loved Disneyland Paris. I am thinking of bringing him to Salou at the end of July to the Port Aventura Park and was wondering would it be suitable for his age? What are the queuing times like?

Also in general what is Salou like?

Yeah it would be suitable for him. Let it be said tho, i have been in Disney in Florida and Salou doesnt compare at all.
Going with ur child then Salou is perfect, cheap food, nice restaurants, gorg beach, water park isnt that big, but for a 5 year old im sure its perfect. Salou is defo family orientated so yeah id say go for it. If he is interested in football u can go on a tour thingy to Barcelona stadium i think it is.

Port Aventura is fantastic - this is our fifth year in a row going back there - I've been to the US Universal Studios and you wouldn't know the difference.

Its perfect for a five year old - some of the rides may have height restrictions but he won't be affected by too many. We have three kids 13 down to 4 and they hate leaving the place.

Salou is OK, can be a bit kippy at night - we stay a little further South in a place called Cambrils - check out www.cambrilspark.es = its the dogs baleros !!!!!!!

Also Ryanair fly into Reus airport

Port Aventura is for all ages so everyone will have a great time there. They have an offer on at the moment . 14 days for Eur 64 for an Adult and Eur 51 for a child 10 or under. It works out that you pay for just 3 days and get 14 !!!!

I was in Port Aventura / Salou for 2 weeks back in 1995 (wow 11 years ago!). Its a good adventure park alright - I was 14 or 15 then and really enjoyed it... I'm sure young kids would too.

You should consider "AquaPark"... it was perhaps 30 mins (cannot remember exactly) from Salou on a bus.

We also took a trip to Barcelona (2 hours on bus) for a day trip... to see Barcelona football stadium, the Nou Camp.

A good fun holiday it was.

I still have my "I survived the Dragon Khan" t-shirt ;)

Back in 1995 it was the biggest or fastest rollercoaster in the world if I remember correctly.
