where do these guys get off?
they want more money for doing exact same job in a slightly different train and even though the labour court found against them they go on a lighting strike and blackmail the hardworking non public sector taxpayers

Well you hit the nail on the head. They're a monopoly with a very hefty union. They're in a position that they can make demands because, when they don't show up for work, there's mass disruption.

I don't know what these demands are in particular but they don't sound very worthy - especially given its from the crowd who wanted 10k for driving a slightly longer DART. If the private sector made these insane demands for every change in their work practices (and, I imagine, the private sector has to adapt far more often due to market demands/competition), we'd reach economic ruin. Nothing but contempt for this crowd sometimes.

i'd say they'll get their money...while private sector workers (bank officials) are told by the minister not to seek pay rise in order to protect inflation....while him and his mates in the dail are lining their pockets and laughing all the way to the bank

I want an extra 5K a year to use this new laptop, just going into my boss now to ask him. Will let you know how I get on...

My post it notes arrived this morning, and they're blue, instead of the usual yellow. I've not seen approval in writing to use this color, so I'm downing tools until I have an official explanation.
Pah, this type of behaviour is despicable.

ah, no doubt they'll just increase all ticket costs by another 15% soon enough...to help with get more trains on time or some such bull****.

we are already totally ripped off by these ****ers. really bugs the hell out of me how they can get away with charging such ridiculous prices for tickets.
