    What would happen if i put my new 7800GS agp (350 watt min) into my pc that has a max power output of 250 watts, do i have to get a new power supply.

    One or two things might happen;

    A) It's a high quality 250W PSU and can feed the power required for the 7800GS - such PSU's are usually only found in SFF systems.

    B) It's an old PSU it cant feed the power to the GPU and system instability will occur as a result.

    If B is the correct scenario then yes you need a new PSU.

    Also you couldent blow up your pc as the small 12vrail and 5voltrail power provided by the two rails in your psu wouldent cause a bang.;)
    just follow procedure and you will be fine.
    Get a decent psu because without decent power being supplied to the card and also your current spec is 100watts blow the minimum, this would lead to instability.
