Activating Windows Problem

Hey, I had a problem a while ago with Windows XP, so I had to reinstall it. Now its asking me to activate it, I put in the correct serial but it doesnt work. Is this because the same copy of Windows is kind of...installed twice on my PC? Anyone know what I could do? 2 days left to activate it.

Did you not format the harddrive when you were installing XP the second time?

Hi,

When you say serial do you mean the serial that's written on your sticker that's stuck to your case?

If so that's the wrong code, you need to ring Microsoft to get an activation code.

No I didn't format cause I didn't want to lose all my files. And yeah, the numbers on the sticket on my case. Are you sure that's not it? I guess I'll have to ring them tomorrow. Will they give me a new activation code or charge me?

YOu just have to make shure you copy of windows is legal.
