fujitsu siemens restore cd

    hi all
    i just bought a second hand amilo laptop but it comes with no restore cd but has an xp home coa on the bottom can i just download a copy and install it or do i have to download an OEM copy or something im really stumped on this

    Hi

    Most of the Amilo Laptops come bundled with a Fujitsu Siemens Branded OEM copy of XP Home, so I'd ask who you bought it off of.

    Have you checked to see if there is a hidden restore partition, or if its still under warranty give fujitsu a call and see if they will sell you one.

    As far as I know they don't make it availabel for download.

    ive mailed em and am waiting for a reply ive still got 13 montths on warranty

    You could use another retail copy of Windows (i.e. Not imaged with particular manufacturers drivers,software, etc.) but it should be the OEM copy...
    FSC usually make the drivers available for download...

    Which Amilo is it ? i have a cd with the drivers for

    AMILO L 6820
    AMILO L 6825
    AMILO K 7600
    i think the install key is in the bios on fujitsu siemens , (i never had to enter a key anyway)

    If there is no restore disc, Boot up the system and hit F10 a few times, this should bring it into the system restore. Alot of systems have a hidden partition on their harddrive's that contain the restore disc and Drivers/utilities/.
