cerebral infarction...

At 19, I suffered an infarction of the cerebellum. Thankfully, after a lot of work and tears etc I recovered but since the event (3 years ago) I have gained weight, slowly and steadily, despite the fact that I eat less and excercise more than I ever did before the stroke- I try to keep myself as healthy as possible,....yet I have gained about half a stone every six months despite dieting and actively trying to shift the weight. Just interested if anyone knows if this is a common/not so common side effect? My thyroid and liver are functioning healthily according to lab results.

This is a medical question which is best addressed by a doctor. If you wish to talk about cerebellar infarctions without specifically seeking advice, please repost with cognisance of this.
