Synth/Keyboard suggestions!

    Hello!

Warning: I have no clue about the world of synths/keyboards so feel free to correct me or redirect me.

Right, so I've been playing piano for over a decade and I really need a keyboard with weighted keys and stuff to replace my knackered upright. Price range is around 1,200 euro or so.

Ideally, it'll be something I can use to practice on (a lot), and something I can record with as well. That'll be recording synth sounds and piano through an 8 track, and recording straight onto my PC. So I guess it's some kind of workstation hybrid with 88 keys properly weighted and stuff....

Is 1,200 euro enough to get a keyboard I'll stick with for 3 or 4 years? What would you recommend?

    Cheers,
    Conan

This seems to be just about your price range, but you could also check some reviews on Harmony Central of any keyboard/synth that takes your fancy.

Something from the Korg Triton range?

Go into musicmaker or waltons in dublin and have a bash at some of their keyboards. They tend to be priced as good as musicstore or thoman to be honest. They dropped their prices when I was buying some keyboards off them last time when I showed them musicstores price. Dont think off the top of me head you'll get a weighted 88key triton for less then €2000 or so though.
