Today we had an AGM in college for the committee for next year. Results are as follows.

    Chairman: Daire Gardiner (Pikey)
    Vice Chairman: Kenneth Darcy (Kenny)
    Secretary: Brian Daily
    Tournament Directer: Ciaran Taggart (Tag)
    PR: Jim Flynn
    Treasurer: Aidan Caffrey
    Promotions/Advertising: Steven Dalton (The Hurricane)
    External Adviser: Declan Doohan

We are making a big change next year because we know the past year wasnt run according to plan and players likes wern't met. So we would greatly appreciate if you could all give us your on ideas of what wasn't up to standard last year and would make us a better society.

Well I shall set the ball rolling. The blinds for the Bolton Street Series of Poker were disgracefull. Skipping blind levels was absolutely needless. Also maybe giving some lessons to some of the newer players down there wouldn't go a miss.

Yeah, I'll agree with Shoutman even though I didn't play at that event, by all accounts the blinds at all Bolton St. events are a lot harsher than at Aungier St.

I remember speaking to a Bolton St. player who thought the usage of 75/150 and 150/300 at Aungier's events was unneccesary...

I have to say that the soceity has worked very hard over the last year. It was only setup last year and I give credit to the lads who run the tuesday tourney. Some people went out of their way time and time again and worked very hard behind the scenes. Mistakes were made at that event but with such a terrific new tournament director Im sure it wont happen again...;)

I would also encourage them to branch out a bit more, like run satellites for big buy-in events like the aungier st poker soc, continue to run an event every tuesday, with such a large following it was foolish not to have group e-mails sent out every week, maybe get a dedicated noticeboard on campus for events, look for sponsorship, maybe buy a poker table....etc, etc.

I look forward to next year and good luck to all the lads.
