 I can't fully answer your question(s), but I can tell you that the XBox will NOT work via a wireless router. You can have a wireless router as well if you wish (for your PCs), but the XBox must be connected to a normal router by a cable. I actually spent last weekend pulling a cable from one end of the house to the other to (re-)connect my Xbox.

xbox live does work with a wireless router ya lemon, why do you think the wirless adaptor is for.

    Lemon... ROFL....
But yes in fact thats what the wireless adapter is for! I'm not sure bout the half a mg line, Downloads would be rough, but against people on 3mg lines multiplayer would be horrifying!!
BTW, whats your gamertag Limerick Dude??

When I got XBL first I ran it on a 512/128 BT connection and had no problems.

Yeah no bother, downloads won't be as fast as they would be on a 3MB connection, but that doesn't really matter that much. For playing against other people the size of the connection doesn't matter as much as your pings, they will determine how "laggy" it'll be when playing against others.
Who is the connection with, by the way?

there is one, but neither the xbox, or 360 require the expensive ms branded usb wifi dongle, any ethernet wireless bridge works fine, and is alot cheaper.
