Strange Video Sender Problem

Can anybody help here: I've got 2 sky boxes in the house, one in the downstairs front room and the other in the downstairs living room.

I've got a video sender attached to the box in the front room to send the signal up to one of the bedrooms. This has worked fine for well over a year but in the last couple of weeks it won't work when pressing the TV Guide, Services, Interactive etc buttons (the green/blue ones at the top of the remote) but works fine using the channel up/down and the i buttons. This is a bit of a pain because I can't view the TV guide from upstairs or change to ITV or BBC3/4 but otherwise ok.

The remote works normally when used in the same room as the box. Does anybody know what could be happening here?

Also, can anybody tell me how to connect a "magic eye" type sender to the other sky box to feed into the other bedroom. There is a co-ax connection but the box feeds into an F junction downstairs and I'm not sure how to make the connection work. At the moment, I have the TV in the bedroom to pick up the satellite channel but can't change it from there, meaning I have to set what I want to watch downstairs first.

All help is very welcome, thanks in advance.

thanks for the reply Watty; changing the batteries makes no difference whatsoever. Any other ideas?

Hmmm... the other possibility that comes to mind is interference.

To be honest though I'm not sure whether any interference could affect some buttons and not others... Maybe... Most video senders send the remote signals on an 800Mhz separate channel to the video which is at 2.4Ghz.

What kind of 800Mhz devices are there? Old analog cordless phones?

Is it possible that electrical adapters could be causing problems? All I could suggest would be to review your electrical equipment.

    Ix.

The Remote signals are at 433MHz. If one works they all should unless the remote is faulty.

remote seems to work normally when in the same room as the digibox, and some buttons work OK using the video sender (channel up/down, volume up/down, blue favourites button) but only work very occasionally (got the menu to work once last night - didn't do anything different, just pointed the remote at the sender and pressed the button; couldn't make it work a second time).

Leaving that issue aside for a minute, can anybody advise how to hook up the magic eye to the other sky box?

    thanks again
