I took advantage of their "come back" offer to get such a box. But when the engineer realised that he had to supply a box and not do a service call he cancelled without telling me. Sky's suggestion was to rebook a service call... After 40 minutes on the phone they agreed to a cancellation without having to give 30 days notice.

    Sheesh..I wanted a new box,,

I got one of the new boxes in Feb, they are made by Amstrad..

They look like the new HD boxes, who makes the new HD boxes?? Is it Amstrad aswell??

By the way the blue light looks deadly but it cant be turned off so in the bedroom it can be a bit annoying!!

Great thanks for the information, a friend of mine got one but i wasnt sure if it was the HD one they had installed by accident.

At least i know now, when the engineer comes to ask for this Amstrad one, looks much better than the older ones.

This is the one I have, under system details of Sky it has a model number of 55FE09!!

If you happen to be going for Sky+ Pace are the preferred manufacturer!!

I think all manufacturers of standard Sky boxes (Pace, Amstrad, Thomson) will be making the same shape box. Amstrad were just the first off the mark.
