Hey have gig coming up here in July and just wondered if anyone could tell me what the place is like. I hear it is fairly small. Do they supply mics and stands and PA? just general feedback about the place would be good...
    cheers lads and lassies....

    dammit,

I just wrote a big paragraph on MB Slattery's CAPEL ST for you :(
You do have to supply your own pa in Rathmines. It's very small, long and awkwardly shaped and I wouldn't recommend much other than acoustic stuff but I think they have decent sized gigs there the odd time. For a full band, there are better venues in Dublin...

Yeah sound is not great at all in Slattery's. There is a PA there but it's ****e.

We're playing there this wednesday, so we're going to try and have the best sound we can out of it... Hope for the best! The last time we played there I got really pissed off, couldn't hear my voice, my guitar or my bass player for that matter.
I think it really is up to your drummer (you in this case Bitsie!).
If he / she plays too loud, you'll have to turn up the amps and the mic, and it will feedback like mad. The other option is for the singer to scream his/her head off in the mic so ya don't have to turn it too loud :)

The set up of the place is quite awkward too.
If you charge at the door, you'll more than likely need 2 people cos there are 2 doors to get people in.

Still it's a free venue to play in so ya can't really go wrong.

Best of luck with it anyway. Have fun!!
