The reason I am worried about this is because of the following link

    http://gear.ign.com/articles/691/691408p1.html

does the 360 have a DVI or HDMI interface

It doesn't have either... the best you can get is a VGA cable or component.

If you're buying a HDTV make sure it has HDMI with HDCP. You can get a HDMI to DVI adapter as well, but HDMI seems the way forward.

Sky are using HDMI with HDCP for their upcoming HD service as well, as far as I know.

Ok so what if HD-DVDs can support 1080p this will be reduced back to 720p or below on both the 360 and cheaper PS3 model by the sounds of things. A little worrying to me

HD-DVDs do support 1080p, however there are very few 1080p screens around and those that are very very expensive.

Plus, currently the 360 doesn't have a HD-DVD Drive. I know it was just annouced but it's not the same, the 360 supports 1080i so I am curious as to the scaling effects when playing a HD-DVD.

    Interesting times ahead.

HDMI is the way to go, DVI is just for video so no audio is transfered, you have to have a seperate audio component.

The entire HD-DVD technology is still "up-in-the-air". I suspect that us early adopters will find that by the time it all settles down, we will new new kit. In addition to the shortage of 1080p TV's, there are actually very few 720p TV's. Most have 768 lines. Some are only 1024x768. This all leads to scaling and a degratation of picture quality.

To be honest, I wouln't worry about it. Just sit back and enjoy what you have for now. True HD-DVD for the masses is a ways off yet.

    (Just my humble opinion)
