Anyone see this last night? Was on pretty late, but sure you guys are all like vampires ;)
If it wasnt set up or hoaxed, the psychics on it were pretty damn impressive, getting a ridiculous amount of detail on a murder from the seventies. The only part that dissapointed was that they didnt seem to be able to do anything with the info discovered, and the current police investigator laughed out loud at the thought of psychics being involved.

This is something that really interests me and probibly a big part of why i want to develope more, being famous aint my thing but the idea that i could help is really appealing. I've watched plenty of programmes on this type of thing and its usually only in america (where some of the smaller sheriffs arealmost liek franchises) that they will actually use information provided by psychics. With the amount of missing people in Ireland and Uk it must at least be an option?

Saying that I am sure the police get alot of "time waster" phone calls but some may well be from people who get their information on another level.

Also i'm sure it would be a scarey thing to contact the garda if you're just a normal joe soap who's sensitive.

Eh, yes, take it from me contacting the police about this kind of thing is not always to be recommended.:o Some are ok, some will laugh in your face. I have one person in authority in my past who listened to me and I will be forever grateful to him, because he took a big risk with his reputation.

Will check Sky and let you know. If its weekly, hopefully next tues again. I usually dont watch stuff like that, but this was good, because they set out the facts of the case first, and in the second half brought in psychics 'cold' gave them no info at all, and saw what they could come up with. They said the people used had been chosen from a large group of potenial psychics, and they were tested first using a solved case.

I got LivingTV on Sky Digital. That's where you can get it surely? I would have thought if you could get it in Ireland you could in the UK too?

Don't think so but it's on every Tuesday night on LivingTV. Yesterday was episode 1.

BTW this was one of the psychics on it. http://www.psychicsahar.com/artman/publish/article_208.shtml

Baldock says whether you're a believer or not, there were discoveries made by the psychics that had no rational explanation. He cites the example of an Australian psychic, who had never been to New Zealand before, who led the crew on a merry dance to a car yard in an area previously unconnected to the case he was working on. "He told us that the deceased used to work there, but before it was a car yard. It turned out the victim had worked in a food processing factory that used to be there, a fact that was only revealed after we searched through the factory's employment records," Baldock says.

I saw it folks it is very impressive if you have an open mind but the skeptics of course will say that they were passed info before hand. Both psychics were very impressive the lady was very accurate Deb Webber is her name she has a website and is very popular in Australia. She really got a lot of the facts correct about the victim and his life up to his death. Its an interesting programme.

Saw it tonight. They pointed out the supposed grave of the murder victim but due to a lack of resources, the program said they could not dig down far enough. Leave's us in suspense. Shame the police said they don't use psychics. What harm can checking do? The 2 different psychics by the way picked the same general area, though one asked to leave the area as he was sensing loads of dead people in the area other than her.

I think in exceptional cases, our Gardai should consider using psychics and mediums.

Ms Williams said family members were frustrated police did not take psychic visions more seriously.

OMG - last nights programme was amazing. The blade of grass that was swirling round - almost beckoning the medium to a certain direction was weird!!!

I've seen the last two programmes also and I have to admit they are pretty impressive.

Is on every Tuesday night at around 10 o'clock until 11.30.

This series has already come out in New Zealand then Australia, and I understand a second series is on the way, and that a British version is on the way too. I would like an Irish version. We have a number of well-known missing person cases that seem to be going no where.

Again a suspect is named, and his details prove accurate for where he lives, but it's up to the police if they listen. I think they should. Well done psychics!

There are a few Garda Inspectors who use Psychics to help in missing person's cases, in fact about 10 years ago there was a 4 page Halloween spread in the Garda Magazine, an interview with an Irish Psychic who had found a missing body for the FBI and also worked with the Irish cops on Satanic cases etc. That, to my knowledge is they only time they have publicly acknowledged using Psychics. Of course in lots of cases the Gardai get calls from Psychics trying to help, it's surprising how many cops are interested in using Psychics but they can't openly admit it for fear of ridicule.

    Gr8 news:
    http://www.worldscreen.com/newscurrent.php?filename=zodiak62206.htm
The format was devised by Danish producer Nordisk Film and was also the distributor’s first format sale to a U.K. broadcaster when LIVINGtv bought an option in 2004 plus the finished episodes that were produced for Network Ten in Australia. It has also been licensed to New Zealand, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Romania and Sweden and was optioned by producers in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Canada.

How would such a show do in Ireland do you think?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 403 ✭✭mysteria

Very interesting. I think the problem in Ireland would be finding 3 good psychics, and getting finance to make pilots for this type of show. Unfortunately we have a small population here which restricts viewing figures, and it's extremely hard to make Irish shows work due to competition from so many other stations with most of us on Digital. With changes re TV3 there's a possibility they might take it on but I can't see RTE going for it.
