Munster duo cross the world for final date

RUGBY-MAD Munster fans are willing to travel from the four corners of the earth to make it to Cardiff for the Heineken Cup final.

Not even the distance of the width of the earth will stop a New Zealand-based couple from being in the Welsh capital for what could be the greatest moment in the history of the province.

Limerick man David McCloskey (23) and his Cork girlfriend, Elaine Blackshields (26), will travel 20,000km to Cardiff for the joust with Biarritz.

However, they are doing so even though one of them may not make it to the actual game. So far they've only managed to secure one ticket for the Millennium Stadium.

"It was a simple choice really," David said, speaking from his Wellington home. "We listened to the semi-final over here on the internet and the second Munster were through, we decided we were going. There was no way we could miss it.

"It is 12,721 miles or 20,472km from Wellington to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. We leave on the Wednesday before and will hopefully arrive in London on the Thursday. There are seven stops before we get to the game."

"We have one ticket for the game, but need another, so if anyone can help us we would be very appreciative," said Elaine.

I know the guy, he's travelling all the way to Cardiff for the game and he won't get to make it home to Limerick to see his family and friends. :D
