I havent got the bike long and didnt get a manual with it. apart from regular checking the oil, brakes, tyres is there anything else I need to keep my eye on? If I were to service it, is it just the oil that needs doing?

Watch out for the chain make sure there is very little slack (one of the first things I learnt!!)

If the chain is slipping get it tightened straight away... usually wherever you bought the bike will do the first for free and show you.

    Keep it lubed as well.

The majesty doesn't have a chain but I guess you would need to check the drive belt for obvious signs of wear at certain intervals. Make sure you keep the control cables (throttle, brakes etc) clean and lubricated. I usually spray a little wd40 down the tubes but be careful using that stuff around brakes. The plugs and air filter would have to be replaced at the specified intervals too. Maybe you could find a manual online?

I think you can get a manual if you go to the american yahama page and sign up for the 'my yamaha' thing. That will probably be for the 400cc majesty but i'm sure that the service and inspection intervals for the brakes / air / oil filter will give you a good idea to do what when.

The majesty is liquid cooled alright, so you'll need a bit of coolant alright. It might be best not to cool it with normal water because it wont have any anti-freeze protection and might be contaminated.

By the way when I said tubes in my earlier post I meant the cable tubes, not the fork tubes :)
