Haunted locations Great Britain and Ireland - an idea and proposal

Okay... inspired by both Fudgemonkey's and Zycon's posts, I've decided to make this thread, that lists haunted locations on our fair isles. These locations would perhaps be places for IP to ivestigate later, but for the most part, there seems to be haunted locations that aren't even listed!

Be prepared for a long spiel below...

Anyway, what I propose is this. If anyone knows of any haunted locations, no matter how they have heard about it, they can add it to a list, either on here, on a wiki page, or both. The aim is to try and investigate as many locations as possible at the end of it. Now granted, not all locations will be available to investigate, but we'd at least look at the places on the list to find out if it's possible. This list would be different to the other list I have on the IP website, which are actual places we're going to try to investigate, which would have priority, but what I might actually do is merge them all together, and have 3-5 separate categories listed pertaining to the status of each location, which makes it easier to see stuff.

Down the line, I'd also like to compile information on each location in a wiki so people don't have to go hunting for information on a location, if they themselves wish to investigate it, or want to find out if the location can be investigated, as well as information on where it is, and links to it, etc. This part is mostly being done anyway, but I'm going to expand the idea somewhat when I next get some time, which should be in a couple of weeks time!

Regarding the location of the list though, do you think it's better off in its own thread on boards, done in a wiki (preferred for organisational purposes) or done for both?

Answers on a postc... er wait, this isn't a competition! :p

So anyway, I'd like to hear opinions on this? Are you for or against the idea? Do you think there could be a more efficient way of doing it? Do you have any other ideas to add?

Those and any other questions relating to the above are very much welcome. If you're unsure if something is off-topic or not, then just ask and I'll get back to you. Grantyed, I want to limit the discussion to the idea, but you never know what may happen from discussing other things...

And that, is that as they say!

    Loftus Hall (Co.Wexford)
In the 1700's a guest called over and played cards with the family. He dropped a card and the daughter of the house bent down to pick it up and saw the guest had....hooves. She screams and the man who is really the devil flies through the ceiling leaving a whole there. Whenever the tried to repair the hole since it appears again. The most recent time was decades ago and it led to the ceiling collapsing. This room is still there and is locked despite parts of the house being rebuild since. An exorcism in the 19th century was thought to have worked but evidently it may not have in the final analysis. Would take a very brave heart indeed to go there to investigate.

    Any castle I'd say.

tbh theres no reason, other than how long its been around, why any building or inhabited space would be any less haunted than a castle, IMHO.

I wholeheartedly agree. I mean, I'm aware that new properties can have spirits too, but they're beyond the scope of this idea, at least at present.
