Always thought that BBQ was about charcoal or, at least, a wood-burning flame. Could never understand this gas lark. Surely it's the same as standing over your gas hob in the kitchen and doing the grub there. You should be able to pick up a cheap-ass half-dome type BBQ in Woodies, Argos or B&Q for about €30/€40.

No a gas bbq is nothing like a hob in your kitchen.. you still have a BBQ taste though its missing some of the smoke... anyway many Gas BBQ's do have charcoal.. mine does.. cheap €99 from Atlantic last year!! So gas just provides the flame... pretty much the same as pure charcoal.. though maybe a little less smoke?

whenever you do get one check if the fitting to connect to the gas cylinder comes with it. it's not a huge expense to get the fitting but a bit of a pain in the ass if you arrive home, set it up ready to go for a barbecue, & then discover you've to go out again and buy this extra bit
