AGH! How frustrating is this? Nearly all jobs want previous experience! How am I to gain it if I no one will employ me to begin with!!

What's most frustrating is I think I'd be really good at it. I just can't prove that though, due to lack of an actual office job previous to this.

I'm trying all the usual places, jobs.ie, fas, lacreme, and numerous other job sites. I've had an interview with an agency that recruit temps, but I dunno. I don't think I was office-y enough.

Any suggestions? I'll keep trying, and I have a job atm that'll do fine for a fall back. But I'd really like to earn a bit more and have a regular 9-5 job.

    [edit]
IN case someone sees this and wants to employ me:

Your location: Looking for a job in Dublin City Centre, or Dublin North
What type of position you are looking for: General admin
Your qualification or reason for looking for this position: Looking to gain office experience. Previous experience with customer services, phone work, and skilled at MS Works
How far you are willing to travel or relocate: as far as any of the buses by DCU will take me.
If it is a summer job you are after (Students) YES, please!

Go with a temp agency. They will test your basic computer skills with a data entry/ms office test.

    Mary B. Cremin do this.

    Right, ESB said:
Thank you for your interest in a position with ESB.

As you may be aware, ESB is undergoing a significant reorganisation and change and, as a result, very little recruitment is taking place at present.

I am sorry we do not have anything to offer you at this time. However, I will keep your Curriculum Vitae on file.

I would like to thank you for your interest in ESB and wish you every success in your search for suitable employment.

    ESB Human Resources
    Shared Services.

Went to Mary B.Cremin. Most efficent site so far, and have an interview with them tomorrow. I hope I don't screw up the test, hate typing when people are watching me!

I did that test a few years back. They don't watch you and it's easy, just don't fail or the computer will blow up :p

If you've no luck- I'd suggest get work experience with a charity or something like that for a week or so
