Was watching C4 on tv tonight and picture was exceptionally good so decided to scan for DTT on my TV tuner card in PC. Picked up MUX 1 and 2 from Brough Mountain.
I live in Meath, the Dublin side of Trim. This is the first time Ive ever got DTT from north.
Time to swing aerial towards Divis and run some CT100 me thinks!!

I dont ever remember seeing channel 4 and UTV so clear on my TV as they were last night so perhaps it was a once off. Will be keeping a close eye on it from now on though and swinging the aerial as soon as I get a chance.

There was a north west wind last night... but hardly tropospheric!

Nice bit of "lift" about today, have DTT from Preseli coming in at a higher power than DTT from Divis, which is only 30 miles away from me. Picture has been rock solid on ITV 1 Wales and BBC1 Wales all afternoon.

Been chatting to folks via the Omagh / WT 145MHz repeater from Dundalk town so conditions are good. I heard the Mullaghanish Cork/Kerry Border 145MHz band Repeater in Dundalk this morning too.

I'm looking into getting aerials for Freeview from Divis installed here. We are on a high spot on the old bypass between Hienz and Xerox in Dundalk.

Who sells decent aerials near here? I think if there isn't someone here that can rig them we are in work business!

I'm only in Limerick at weekends now.

No sign of Preseli DTT tonight, but Analogue from Llanddona is coming in loud and clear.

Picture on analogue last night was very good again. Tried the freeview again and got another MUX. I was picking up MUX 1 and MUX 2 perfectly with intermittent signal on MUX D.

I have replaced a lot of the cabling in the house with CT100. I still have a couple of runs to change, including the down lead from the aerial.

From Brougher Mountain Mux1 = E30 and Mux 2=34. Both channels would have no high-powered analogue transmissions in and around Leinster and Ulster so would have a reasonably "clear path". Mux 1 is no surprise, but with receiving Mux 2 you're doing well as it has a reputation of being the hardest of the six to receive from Brougher.

Mux D (E33) reception is interesting as it would have had to fight off co-channel with RTÉ2 from Three Rock.

The ones I am picking up well are Channels 30 and 34. 33 is comming in pretty strong from time to time. My signal from three rock is blocked by some big trees across the road from my house in that direction. I got a lock on the MUX which carries channel 5 for long enough to get the list of channels from it but no picture.
I am only receiving these channels at night from around 9pm onwards. I plan on replacing the rest of the cables later this week all going well, so that might help a bit.

That'll be Mux A, E23 from Brougher Mountain.

Should I swing my aerial around to Divis to try take advantage of the higher transmit power? There is roughly a 50-50 split around here with some people using Divis for analogue and others using Brougher.

Here's what Radiomobile says about my line of sight

(btw, I’m not claiming to have radio mobile setup completely right, I was just using it to get the LOS. I found a link to a Google Earth file with the masts marked on it, so they are pretty accurate.)
