just found out I dont have as much time to play with today than I thought I did. Oh well, have to go local.

Any hope we can turn this thread into an "organise an event for munster people" kinda thing? Or should I put it this way, who around the Cork/Kerry/Clare/Limerick/Waterford/Tip region would be interested in meeting up for a days shooting in 2/3 weeks time?

You could go along the coast to Waterford/Dunmore? Even Hook Head?

I know it's a bit away (time & distance) but I'll be down on Valentia island from 15th July to 5th August if anyone is interested. Could take in the Skelligs. Now they are worth a trip if the bloody bird flew doesn't close them.

Well, I'm based in Waterford all summer, so I'd be up for it.

And I'm planning to go on a camping trip this summer out in the west, so I'm interested as well :D

yeah the Burren is beautiful, got to get the weather tho!

i've been in the area before and it can be just fog for days on end, pretty miserable then.
I was in the Aillwee caves there too, didn't have a camera at the time, can't remember if they allow photography there or not! but some great material there.

Tipperary based here so I'd be on for going to someplace in within a reasonable distance. Will be in Clare early July, i'm thinking of going to the Aran Islands if the weather is good.

I went out past Oughterard to Lough Corrib and then back by Ross Lake today and got some great photos. Pity the weather is turning crap now. :[

As a Kerry/Limerick based person I would def be up for something in the Munster region! There are a couple of us Munster Flickrites who meet up already and im sure the lads would join in if we are low in numbers. Im away next weekend at a conference but any other time I would def be up for a photo adventure.

I think the burren is a great place to go when it's cloudy.
    The landscape gets very dramatic.
An example photo from last year:

Im formulating and postulating in my free time. I expect to have and post something in the coming days. We're probably talking a Saturday in the next two /three weeks. Of course I'll throw it wide open to approval from anyone that expresses an interest in coming along.

I was gonna say this weekend, possibly Bunratty Castle. Not too sure what the weather is going to do (given that this is almost the worst May on record) or what the photography policy is around Bunratty castle & park.

If not this weekend (and I'm away the following weekend), lets aim for the next weekend... Which would be err.. Saturday the 10th June. Hopefully the rain will have stopped by then :D

If it would be of any interest, Spraoi is on on the August bank holiday weekend in Waterford. There'll be street acts, bands playing on different streets, a parade and all that kind of thing. Should be some interesting shots over the weekend, and some good nights on the tear too. It's always good fun.

    EDIT: http://www.spraoi.com/ Check it!

If it's mid-week I can take three Waterford heads and myself. If it's the weekend I'm out. Look on the bright side though, the weather can't get worse, can it?
The Clare Glens would be a smashing place to visit. Not too far from Lmerick. The Spraoi is probably the best thing to happen to Ireland every year, I did the official snaps for it about five or six years ago, got some great stuff :D

I was heading in the Kerry direction this weekend, home to visit the folks and all, but if a meet is going ahead I would come back for it. I wouldnt be too pushed about the Clare Glens though, been there a few times recently and never got much. Of course if people fancy heading to the Kingdom this wkend, all the better :)
