    Hello,

Is anybody else having touble with NTL since last night? I was unable to connect to the net last night through to this morning from home. Does anybody know if NTL's "servers" are down? Just trying to see if this is an isolated incident with a fault on my end, i figure posting here ill get a faster response than NTL will give me.

    Cheers!

PS: im now in work, so im not even sure if its resolved yet or not.

    nixy.

ive had to reset mine many's a time.
if you type the ntl ip thingy into your weeb browser you should get kinda status thingy for your bb. well im on eircom but i imagine every sip does the same:confused: . anyway there should be an option to reset your modem from there. (this could be complete bollox but you never know). anyway hope it works.

    loadabollocks:D

Definitely had a problem; after several reboots of modem, router, PC, etc, I couldn't ping the NTL DNS servers, and pings to the IP of their web site were return only 25% of the time. Seems to be OK now though.

There is a sticker on your modem which says remove power from pc and then ntl modem. Wait 30 secs then redtore power to modem. Wait 30 secs more then turn on PC.

-That got me going again, no problems so far.

I'll try that. Problem is everytime I've done that in the past it can take hours to reconnect.

Rebooting the modem does seem to have helped.

Came back to my pc and powered it up to find ntl down again.
I removed power from the modem for 30 sec, didn't bother turning off the pc and the ntl came back once I restored powwer and let the lights settle.

Tis a bit of a pain in the ass.

    Just lost connection home again.
Same issues last night when i was in the house.
The eth and ds lights seem to flash alternatively.
Modem was just uncapped to 10Mb aswell and the v3 firmware went on.
Will have to wait to get home to reboot it tho :/

How did you discover that it was uncapped to 10Mb and got the v3 firmware?

    Login to http://192.168.100.1/P_operation.htm with user/pass of root/root

    You should see something like
    Operation Configuration
    Network Access : Enabled
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 bps
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 512000 bps
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Software Upgrade File Name : ntlhm120_ntl0003.cpr
    Software Upgrade AdminStatus : allowProvisioningUpgrade
    Software Upgrade OperStatus : completeFromProvisioning

Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 10240000 bps will mean its 10Mb

Software Upgrade File Name : ntlhm120_ntl0003.cpr will mean its the version 3 firmware from what i gather, it was 0002 last time i checked
