Connecting flights in Stansted

Is anyone here very familiar with Stansted airport and whether it would be possible for myself and another to do the following:
    - arrive on Ryanair flight from Genoa at 1545 (Sat.)
    - reclaim bags
    - check in bags again in time for scheduled Ryanair flight to Cork at 1645

There are two of us so maybe one of us could run ahead and check in?

The reason I am looking at this dilemna at all is because the flight to Cork was changed (brought forward to 1645 from 1855). I now have the option of accepting it or getting a refund.

    Any advise appreciated.

With the wait for bags at Stansted you're really pushing your luck. I for one who travels over every week during the season have only come across my bags coming through straight away once in the last 3 years.

You could try maybe to take your stuff in hand luggage. This of course is all down to how much you took with you. If ye are travelling light try squash in the luggage to something acceptable for carry-on. Also if there are a few of ye could distribute out the load maybe. I usually travel light with one suitcase (unless I'm going for a long stay) and either a Business case or small backpack for my carryon. I always take a carryon for stuff like my Digital Camera, Medication (Asthmatic), Passport, tickets etc.

I was once waiting three whole hours in Lanzarote for my suitcase, so with the time being tight and the carrier being Ryanair  it could be recipe for disaster.

I am very familiar with that deal.....your best bet is carry on the luggage if possible.. wear as much bulk as you can...1 hour is probably not enough 2 is about the minimum I would like..

I wouldn't risk it. On top of all the baggage malarky, Stansted is pretty big, and IIRC the Ryanair docks (or whatever they're called) are pretty far from the check-in areas.

Too much can go wrong. You've a margin of 20 mins from your flight landing in Stn to getting to check-in. Not allowing for any delays, time it may take to get through passport control, customs, collecting bags, queues at checkin. Remember, Ryanair are sticklers for checking in 40 mins before flight and you could be landed with a bill for getting onto the next flight.

as a ryanair veteran, i'd have to say no way. i was in the same position b4, and it was only by the grace of god that the 1st plane arrived half an hour early that i made it.

as has been said, stanstead is massive, i don't think you'd have a hope of making it...

    Bottom line so is,
    - with baggage to check in -> not a hope
    - with carryon baggage only -> possible but relying on everything going smoothly and on-time!

Does the fact that you can check in Online now from Stansted to Cork change the situation? I tried this going from Cork recently and they didn't accept the Online Checkin printout. Has anyone done it from Stansted to Cork (or elsewhere)?

Thanks for the advise by the way!

I wouldnt risk it i would give 2 to 3 hours . If you miss it you will have to pay a crazy price to Ryanair at the airport!!!!
