the sound of silence?

ok I was really freaked out walking up the road tonight. I had 3 and a half cans and 2 bottles of Heineken, also I had a shot of this **** a friend of mine had in his gaff. it was some Chinese/Japanese drink. It had a lizard at the bottom, and it looked really cool. I asked him if I could have a shot of it (I had seen it in his gaff about a year ago and still the seal was unbroken) because I thought he would say no, but he started breaking the seal and said he was waiting for someone to ask. to cut a long story short I took a shot and it felt weak, but walking up from the pub I constantly heard the faraway sound of a siren, and it was all in my head. I never experienced this before, was it the drink? or is it the sound of silence? I can't hear it anymore, it was weird.

It's hard to say... because of the fact that you were drinking, it's impossible to say whether this is paranormal or not...

Being in a loud environment can lead to a temporary bout of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) You might only have become aware of it walking down a quiet street.

Alcohol in itself can weather many peoples resistance to external stimuli and weaken the void between sensory perception and the mental awareness and projective thought forms they produce.

I would agree with Katie, Tinnitus, audio disarray and the temporarily chemical imbalance created within the physical anatomy of the person under the influence, although to many may reflect and psychologically promote the “possibilities” of a personal paranormal experience, can be quiet difficult to both categorise and analyse as after all even the event which was limited to personal perception was to a large degree eroded and moulded by the alcohol consumption.

Perhaps the focus should not be on the actual experience, but what it could mean to you as a individual –

Sirens are rarely a symbol or representation of harmonious times, perhaps the event itself (be it self generated of from the external) is a reflection of a need for self-identification, evaluation and review of your actions regarding the situation in which it arose.

    Its always worth the thought...

thanks all. something I forgot to mention that is probably the cause of the rining: earlier that day a car down the road from me was acting rather weird, the horn was on perpetually, it was horrible. it sounded less like a car horn and more like a circular saw cutting metal up real close, but it was deffo coming from the car. I probably just didn't hear the ringing before then because things were happening around me a lot, also the sh*t I drank made me paranoid to bits.
