Well firstly I would of reraised 6putt, but seeing as you didn't I would be very 50/50 about what I would do, you could lay it down as it is a very dangerous flop, you have committed only ten dollars to it and you are out of position, Taipan's move here could be a squeeze play, do you have any information on this player?
With no information I would probably fold and wait for a better situation.

Is 6putt usually aggressive, something Taipan may have picked up on?

It seems impossible to know what Taipan has. Could be any 2 pair, possibly an overpair, a flush draw, a str8 and flush draw, a straight or a set.

Under no circumstances should you fold here
Half the time Id call the first bet and half the time id raise it, but having played it like this I Push now

depends whether u have notes on villian, if hes good consider a pass, in the absense of notes, against a random player, i push this.
ive seen enough fish raise here with an over pair or tptk, or 2 pair + theres a very good chance he has got a draw, and u are ahead, + even if he has the str8 u will fill up enough to make a push +ev imo.
(just hope he doesnt have a bigger set)

results, i decided to push. the raiser called with A7d and hit a 9 on the turn for his st8. i played the hand badly from the start i think

How else would you play it? I don't see any better way to play it, I don't think the guy with A7d is going anywhere no matter what you do.

Re-raise 6Putt on the flop, this is not a flop that you can give free cards to. On most turns you won't know where you are, you then could have re-evaluated if Taipan check re-re-raised or check called a re-raise. You'd have much more info. to use, your hand is strong but vulnerable on this board, both in terms of being outdrawn and slowing down your opponent if a scare card hits. How were you expecting to stack 6putt by calling here. Hoping he had an overpair and would push on a turn that doesn't complete a flush or straight. Re-raise here....

All this is ignoring Taipan, and after your call, it's difficult to play this hand, just unlucky you had no info. to go on and make an informed decision.

EDIT: Just re-read that and it's a bit jumbled, (hungover) but to be clear re-raise on the flop, for many reasons, at that stage you can ignore Taipan,

but a nice little side effect of playing the hand this way is you'd have a huge amount of information about his hand after you re-raise...
