Buying abroad

Hi, I'm considering buying my first mp3 player and I have decided to go for the Creative Zen Micro Photo 8Gb. To me it seems to be best value compared to Apple and Sony equivalents etc. Does anyone agree/disagree?

Secondly, does anyone know if I would make a saving by buying in Japan? I work for a Japanese company and there's usually somebody heading over and back on a regular basis. I asked one of the Japanese staff to compare the above product and there wasn't much difference to Komplett's price - maybe I need to go for a Japanese product like Sony?

Thirdly, I'm going to the states on my holidays this summer and could hold off till then, but I'd prefer to have it with all me tunes downloaded before I go.

    All comments are much appreciated....

The Creative Zen Micro Photo 8GB retails for €219 now, which is a considerable drop from the €300 price tag it was introduced with before Christmas '05. I'd have to say that I'd much sooner buy it than an iPod Nano or a Sony NWA1000...

Anyway, you're reallly not going to save much in the long run by buying it elsewhere, all things considered.

Cheers Bard, at least I think I'm making the right choice in going for the Zen.

for that price you'd be better off spending a little extra on a zen vision:m, or equivilant. 8GB for €200 isn't a lot

Would be weary about buying abrod unless you are sure that someone can return it if got broken. Happened me with an ipod and thank god for apple's worldwide guarantee is all i can say.
