Beware of the wolf....

Here is a quote from the Racingpost.

This completely backs up my prediction. I tipped him before in a Group1 and he came home for me.

NEIL CALLAN on Thursday reported that Amadeus Wolf has been “working out of his skin” as he reminded the betting publicnot to ignore the Classic claims of his Group 1-winning 2,000 Guineas candidate, while the focus of attention was on market leaders George Washington and Sir Percy.

Five years after he captured fourth spot on his first Classic mount, When In Rome in the 2001 St Leger, Callan contests the Stan James 2,000 Guineas for the first time on Saturday, when he will be eager to confirm the growing potency of his association with the Kevin Ryan stable.

Amadeus Wolf has never raced beyond six furlongs, but Callan is confident a lack of stamina will not be an issue when the colt lines up against 13 rivals at Newmarket.

It will be Amadeus Wolf's first start since he landed the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at the Rowley Mile course last September.

Callan, whose mount drew stall 12, said: “I am happy with what I’ve seen of the colt at home. He’s improved and matured. He has been working out of his skin and looks a million dollars. I’ve no doubt he'll last a mile. Obviously, you need a bit of luck in a race like this.
“All the headlines have been for the two favourites but Kevin Ryan doesn’t like to shout from the rooftops. He likes to let his horses do the talking. You can get all the media hype but at the end of the day, I am happy with my horse and he goesthere 120 per cent.”

Callan, Tony Culhane (Misu Bond) and Ian Mongan (Close To You) will be the three Guineas debutants in the field, from which Amadeus Mozart, Heliostatic, James Joyce and Supaseus were the defections on Thursday.

As expected, Michael Hills opted for Craven Stakes winner Killybegs when confirming his big-race mount, leaving twin brother Richard to take over on Red Clubs, the Greenham Stakes winner. Jamie Spencer rides Barry Hills’s other contender Olympian Odyssey.

“Apparently, Olympian Odyssey worked very well on Wednesday,” Spencer told Racing UK on Thursday.

“He’s a lovely horse who ran really well at Newmarket in the Feilden, and was unfortunate not to win. However, that should have left him just right for this weekend, and he goes there with a good each-way chance.”

Horatio Nelson was eased a point to 7-1 by William Hill on Thursday but trainer Marcus Tregoning still rates the claims of last year’s Dewhurst runner-up and favourite George Washington, despite the slow start to the campaign by the Aidan O’Brien stable.

“A few of Aidan’s horses aren’t running so well but that could be a bit of a foil really - I am sure George Washington will be at his peak and don’t forget Horatio Nelson, he is a very good horse andI like him a lot,” Tregoning told Sky Sports News.

“Sir Percy is very fit and we will have to see if he is good enough. My horse hasn’t had any stops, all has gone well and there will be no excuses for us.”

Sir Percy was cut to 100-30 (from 7-2) by VCbet and 3-1 (from 7-2) by Ladbrokes, while George Washington was cut to 7-4 favourite (from 15-8) by Coral.

While I'll probably be backing Amadue Wolfe too I wouldn't read to much into jockey comments, pretty much every one is talking there mount up. There are several worrying factors though, his 2 wins at the backend of last year where with some ease in the ground and a lot of his family are unproven over a mile.

By the way there is already a thread on the Guineas, no real point starting another one about the same thing.

Don't fancy his chances. He's beaten nothing of note bar red clubs.
