It's a con, not like Von Daneken, or even Hancock, but a con all the same. The whole thing is a natural occurrence, I went down with my neighbour who is an archaeologist too (local Croatian) and we were given a guided tour. It bit the big one when he tried to present a paper in Zagreb when he was forced to admit that he hadn't done the regular site investigations and was panhandling for cash to make "an extensive excavation".
