Karter died at Kirkistown 29/04

    Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, a 250cc Karter died at Kirkistown on saturday during a race.

    Unfortunately, the meeting ended on a low, with 250cc karter Mervyn Campell being thrown out of his machine at the ultra fast Debtors corner. Medics at the scene managed to revive him but he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. Our sympathies go to his wife and family.

    yeah i heard about that at the weekend. I think it was a bit of a freak accident. Was he not in a 125 kart?

    Desperately sad to hear :( Big fast race cars or karts, it goes to show how dangerous the sport we love is.

    Thankfully these extreme circumstances are rare. Going off at Debtors in a 250 is not somthing I would like to do.

    My condolences to his family & friends, may he rest in peace.
