    The misinformation in the (now locked) poitin thread was quite disturbing, I was re-reading some posts looking for the smilies, but alas there were none.

    This site below is the BIBLE of distilled spirits, discusses how to make it (which I do not condone). But there are reams of interesting info on how it is made. Many here like wine and are interested in different blends etc. This site is of huge interest to spirit drinkers, it will also tell you why cheap vodka is cheap and how to tell a good vodka from bad (basically no hangover!)

    Some of what is up on this site's manual is now out of date, and contains some bad advice. Please read the forums on that site instead (http://homedistiller.org/forum/index.php) , as they are up to date, and filled with some very knowledgeable distillers.
