Is anyone interested in playing a STT tournament as a syndicate to either the Showdown Poker tour or an online qualifer: The cost would be
    1. 550 per player for the STT
    2. or around 50 per player to enter an online sat - i.e. Betfair, PPP

If interested please respond here. If you need more info then ask.

Alternatively, a syndicate for the IPT would work too!

if your looking to play it then the fitz are running these STTs quite frequently with 50eurp STTs into it, if your organising it then sorry! ::D

    I know about those ones.

I was trying to organize a syndicate tournament. I have done this before with a lot of other players. We play an STT to send a rep to play in a live game on behalf of the syndicate and any winnings are split with the syndi. It is a great way to get a chance to play a bigger game as well as have a vested interest in the tourney even if you don't win the spot, plus a chance to make some cash.

Last year I participated in 2 of these and sent a player to Blackpool and Austria(ME).

But apparently, Boards players do not participate in these syndi's, because I have had minimal interest. The other forum I chat on eats these things up.

Poker & Pints ... Who are you?

    Why?

If you would like a CV, let me know and I'll PM it to you.

    It was a simple question.
Whatever credability you might have had before i'd say you have none now.

Culchie i think you now have all the information you need to know.

lol, you're looking for 550 snotty notes to play in an online STT, and also then trust you with what could be pretty significant prize money for the 'syndicate'.... or should we just send out an APB looking for Poker & Pints should our 'rep' scoop a few quid.

You'd be pretty stupid not to ask who is organising it wouldn't you?

    Good Luck with your project.

I was just trying to organize a game so someone would get a shot at a big tourney, syndicate style and now I have no credibility!

I told him that I would PM my CV. I thought that was a legit offer. I didnt think it was right to post personal details on here. An even if I did, very few folks would know me because I don't get a chance to go out in town much due to distance and my schedule at work.

I have done this before for other tournaments with pretty good success. Just 9-10 guys chipping in for a chance at a bigger tournament and all having a vested interest. It is fun and has worked well in the past.

I didn't realize credibility was required to do this and could be gained or lost so fickly. Everyone is involved at the table and everything is visible from the word go.

Anyways...if no one else is interested so be it. It is usually a good idea...but like I said, apparently not here.

There's nothing wrong with the idea at all, you're just going the wrong way about selling it ... IMO

    Good Luck with your project.

The game would be held at the Fitz and the money would go to them right after the STT. What is so dodgy about that? I am not asking anyone to give me any money personally. And if you have a vested interest as a syndi member, you would be at the tourney cheering on your rep if he is winning and in the money...and if money was one I am sure at least one rep would be around to collect if not all. Like I said there has never been a problem...I have been involved in this both online and offline and never had an issue. And I was 100% serious about sending my CV to you or anyone else if that is what you wanted. As a matter of fact all 10 players could send their CVs to each other. I have ZERO problem with that.

Can you propose a way? I mean I am new to Boards and have been trying to meet folks and have a chat and learn a few things. I have read and reread what I posted and don't know what else you want. I was asking for interest. I have a set of rules that were drafted for the other ones I played in...My intention was to forward them on to anyone interested if this thing happened.

But it seems negativity and pessimism are the rule rather than the exception.

I think it is a good idea P+P, but what sort of percentage would be going to the rest of the players in the syndacite ie the ones who didnt win or would it be split evenly between them all, as for rounders and culchie, I know where you are coming from but maybe you should learn to be a bit more trusting, besides if anything did go wrong we have Double D (Detective Dev) to hunt this guy down and crush him with all his might...

    Hey P&P

Reputation means alot on here and your fairly new to boards.ie. Its nothing personal but there has been a lot of messers on here in the past.

I know most of the regular posters on here personally and wouldn't bat an eyelid if they posted arrangimg a STT for a ticket. I think that's where Culchie is coming from.

The query is legitimate as is your perception of the negativity. Cross wires me thinks.

Dont take it personally. Just let us know a bit more about yourself, where you play etc. If you want to remain anon then you are going to get some queries like this. Its the nature of a forum.

And who the hell are you to be telling him this? Has anyone ever seen your face? I doubt it. I bet you don't even look like a salamander, never mind a dragon!!

Anyways, Postage & Packaging, sorry, Poker & Pints (easy mistake), I think the most pertinent question asked on this thread is this:

"what sort of percentage would be going to the rest of the players in the syndacite ie the ones who didnt win or would it be split evenly between them all". In theory I would be interested in this if the deal was a good balance.

Dont think its too much too ask who is posting, not exactly the spanish inquisition.

I will play if the setup is right, ie winner gets 35% of any winnings 65% split between the other players or something similar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,832 ✭✭✭Waylander

I assume the winner of the stt gets to play in the main tournament. There was talk of soething like this a while ago, but some players were saying that the tournie entrant would have to be agreed before hand, which makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Jesus... did everyone get sand in their vaginas at the beach or what?!

5Star, I know BigD well , as would most Fitz regulars. Relax, he was trying to be helpful.

P&P I actually DO like this idea but I too would want to know who was organising it and holding the money. You've made that clearer now.

I was in Vienna this year (I presume you meant that tournie when you said Austria?). I got to know all the lads who went so if you were one of them, why not give us your name and I'll vouch for you....

Trusting someone who's name you dont know, online, is hard. Trusting someone who refuses to name themselves online, is foolish.

    DeV.

I really like the idea and i'd be very interested in the €550 STT if you get people.

Could you post some more info P+P?

    I'd like to know:
What percentage split you're talking about.
What structure would you have for the STT (stack and clock etc).

If it was done in the fitz with a dealer and that then i'm very interested.

PS: Devore, i'm stealing the 'too much sand in their vaginas...' line off you, it'll go down a treat next time there's a football arguement in my local.:)

    • You have agreed that you will turn up to the live event should you win the satellite event.

    • It is your responsibility to contact the host of the event to find out the terms and conditions and to make sure that you will be able to attend, as much information as is available will be posted, but this must not be taken for granted.
    • If you are successful at the live event any winnings must be credited to all members within one week of winning.
    • You agree that you will only keep 40% of any winnings and that the eligible members of that syndicate will share 60%.

The percentage is of course negotiable.
The event is held at the Fitz(i.e.) and the entry paid right after the STT directly to the FITZ.
Money is held by the most trustworty Boards person playing or a Fitz person...whatever is arranged.
No additional fees are included...just enough to pay the entry and the entry fee

I will probably think of other things in a bit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 244 ✭✭Poker & Pints

The structure would be the most agreeable among the entrants/participants/syndi.

Yes the winner of the STT would be the rep for the syndi....you could even get a shirt made with the name, etc.

I am sure the Fitz would support, as would the Merrion....I don't know how much they would charge for their service. Anyone? Or other alternatives(if someone has connections) could help.

Obviously we could put up a thread to follow the progress of the rep. Hopefully, the syndi members would be their to root for the rep if he hits the cash.

This could be for either the Showdown or the IPT...or both.

Roll eyes smiley inserted as appropriate to original post. As Olly suggested, a fine tune of sarcasmometer required. As for being a Fitz regular...... Sometimes I wish I weren't but sadly I must plead guilty to that too.
