I'd highly doubt they'd add another date but I could be wrong.

Larger countries get pretty much the same deal as us. Pearl Jam are notorious for selling out concerts. Im sure if MCD can get them they will but they really should be moved to a larger venue.

I really dont see why they wont do the RDS or something instead. They are doing Reading as an outdoor gig and I still think theyd be quite annoyed if they knew they were playing in a venue with a history of overcrowding including injuries and a death.

Rang MCD and it doesn't look likely

Basically said Ticketmaster were a joke - was online at 8.50am on Saturday and that the venue choice was brutal - she basically said nothing she could do but she did'nt hear of any news concerning a second gig

That's been doing the rounds ages before this gig was announced, I doubt it... I think a second Point date is much more likely (and that's not very likely)

Marley Park should have been considered as they would have easily sold it out, but they'd never fill slane.

Gigs get moved from Whelans to the Ambassador, or the Olympia etc, that kind of scale.

Has anyone ever heard of a gig being moved from the Point because of it selling out? I don't think so.

demand for a rock band being this huge is the madness that surrounded Nirvana's first headlining Irish gig. Mcgonagles----Point, how's that for an increase in capacity. Second gig, possibly, makes more sense to move it outdoors, add a fairly well known couple of bands and call it Sunstroke. Dalymount Park, anyone remember. We can all live in hope.
Will get tickets somehow even if it remains this way. But be active. Anytime tickets go up on eBay, make a complaint. Against eBay policy to sell items that are not in your possesion. Anyone outside Ireland is waiting for delivery from ticketmaster and cannot possibly have the tickets in their hands. Not sure eBay will do anything but if enough people complain. Who knows?

Usually, when a potentially big gig is announced (such as with Oasis at The Point last year) the promoters provisionally book a second date not known to the public if they think there's a likely chance of big enough demand of a second date. The fact that that there's been no 2nd gig announced at this time it's highly unlikely that there will be one. If there was going to be a 2nd gig it would have been announced by now.

I'd say ye'd be better lookin to go to one of the continent gigs guys. Thats what I'm doin, flights under €70 tickets through a booking agency and a hotel whole thing could be done for under €200 easily. Rather do that than pay som filthy b@$t@rd outside the point who coulden't count to ten. Pi$$ed as ye are but can't see any hope for a second gig:(

Thats what im doing with Barcelona (along with the point gig!), might try to to get a Barca game in too if they happen to be playing that weekend!

I had intended making it to most euro shows but writing off a car and having to buy a new one put paid to that!!! Im still looking into making a couple of more shows though!

I think PJ know the history of the venue and deaths

Exactly. PJ are fans of The Point, they could easily have gone for a bigger venue but clearly they wanted to play there again.

I wouldn't be too worried about the gig, safety has improved a lot since the Pumpkins gig and most PJ fans have grown a little bit older/wider...
