    Just a heads up.

There's a interview with Maradona on BBC1 tonight, I think around 10pm ish.

    Should be good.

    23:05 (BBC1)

    When Lineker Met Maradona

Twenty years since they last shook hands on a football pitch in Mexico, Gary Lineker travels to Buenos Aires to spend the weekend with Diego Maradona.

Yeah is BBC NI, it was advertised on MOTD last week so its more than likely on BBC1 at in or around the same time.

    I assume Lineker speaks spanish?

after his stint at barca, i'd say he has enough. unless he's thick...like a certain R.Madrid right winger married to an ex spice girl formerly known as posh spice. not mentioning any names though.

its on at 2305 which, thankfully, is after Desperate Houeswives (PHEW!) but unfortunatley will conincide with the first ten minutes of Podge + Rodge, the final episode. UH-OH

Very enjoyable, Maradona comes over far better than the media created spectacle you'd believe him to be.

Big Ears did the whole interview in Spanish and then re-recorded the questions in English, that's why when beside the pool you never saw both faces in shot when English was being spoken

i thought it was petty poor - not enough questions about him or his career.

focused too much on the 1896 match against england...

Wasn't that long ago, was it?? :D

Thought it was an excellent programme, loved the Boca part.

ah RTÉ should send jimmy mc gee over for a real interview

i loved the BOCA part. fanatical is right.

and his daughter is fit too (depending on age - is fit / will be fit!!!)

I remember seeing a program on him years ago and they were watching a nothing match. End of the season with the league already decided so nothing to play for save maybe a bit of pride i suppose. Anyway Boca loose 1 nil and he was in tears! Thats passion...

Also whats interesting is that I think it was his son (couldn't be sure of that) is actually a river plate fan!!!

no mention of his son last night. or his lovechild son in italy thats supposedly half decent at football.

he sure does cry a lot!

His "lovechild" plays for Napoli apparently....

    Was well worth watching.

The Boca Junior bit was great ....that and the fact that Lineker was just in awe in his prescence.

Loved his description of Shilton when he dummied by him for the wonder goal.:D

I thought the painting of Maradona scoring the hand of God goal with angels covering the ref's eyes and tugging on Shiltons' hair was classic.
