    I think there may be some value to be had in dutching the 7:10 at Wincanton.

    Firstly, Elenas River. This C&D (course and distance) winner has enjoyed very good form going back over a couple of seasons. The recent number 7 in the form can be ignored, as this was a race on soft ground, which the horse appears to dislike. He was run again on good ground on his last outing, and came second. The going is good today. On his last 3 wins, he had Johnston on board, and that’s who is booked for today. Johnston is boasting a decent enough record, likewise is Hobbs, the trainer. I also feel that this horse has gotten away with a few pounds after his bad performance, and should be slightly higher in the weights.

    Secondly, another C&D winner, Lord Anner. Again, I think it is worth overlooking his very recent form, as it was two silly mistakes that have those number 4’s beside his name. Ruby, who I rate very highly, is on board - he has won on him before, and can steer him right today. This horse also likes good ground, and the Nicholls yard, who are doing extremely well, must have high hopes for this today. Again, I feel he has been treated ok by the handicapper, and has a serious chance at winning this.

    For anyone who has not dutched before, it is basically backing more than one selection in an event. The stakes are worked out so that no matter what wins, the outcome in money would be the same for you. To keep things simple, I will use a total of €10 for this bet:

    Selections;

    Back: Elenas River @ 3.55 (€5.70)
    Back: Lord Anner @ 4.7 (€4.30)

    Total cost of bet €10
    Total Return if any selection wins: €20.22

    Just one for today

    Wolves 3.50
    Ballare ran a strong race to 3rd lto, should be nicely poised to win this, Pending is a danger but Ballare should edge it.

    Angus Newz runs today in the 4.30 at Bath and is currently trading at 6/1. It's a drop in trip which should suit, however Angus Newz is up against it today in this class 1 and will probably find one or two too good for it. I've done a small each way bet as I expect it to be placed.

    Not a very good day on here today as results dictate but maybe Hibernian in 6.40pm at Wincanton will win if its fit. 3/1 easily available although it could be bigger.

    Of the two I'd go with Elenas River. An danergously well handicapped one at an each way price is Zaffamore, he's currently trading at 11.5/1 on Betfair. He goes off a mark 13lb lower than a winning mark, has solid course form and is weighted to reverse C&D placings with Lord Anner from the backend of last year.

    Elenas River wins and Zafformore just failed to get up for a place, made eyecatching late headway though and might be worth another chance next time out since the Racing Post suggested he'd need tonights run.

    In the 7:28 at Kempton, I quite like the look of Snowed Under, only 1lb higher than his last winning mark and made a very encouraging seasonal reapperance when, the text on the RP site of that last race suggests he is well handicapped and a decent amount of support for him makes me think he'll go close.

    Those of you around last year will probably remember my love and admiration for the Mark Prescott stable. In the 7:56 at Kempton he runs a horse called Phone In which is going in it's first handicap, it's 3 runs in maidens have all been shockers over 6 and 7 furlongs, it's stepped up to 1M2 this evening. Due to the reputation of the stable it's price is 7/2 when it should really be 10 times that. The presence of this horse has put me off having a bet in this race as it could be a donkey likes it's form suggests of it could be another case of the Prescott yard pulling a fast one.

    Indeed it was. I took it a 4.6 on Betfair. Great tip, thanks.
