Has anyone tried the 1000 text offer on Aertel page 609 on your tv? Is it actually true? Apparently it says u can get 1000 texts for only €10, only 1c a text.

Did u subscribe to this offer? 3 votes

No, they can't actually do that. All you would be paying is your normal GPRS, 3G, GSM data usage - however, for legal reasons they have to tell you this.

The only warning bells that are wringing for me are with this mention of "promotional msgs", as it does essentailly subscribe you to (at the very least) a SMS spam mailing list.

The hassle and cost of having to connect via wap to send a message would put me off. Sending texts via PC is handy, but why pay even 1c for it when you get free texts from Vodafone/o2 anyway if you register the phone. (not sure about Meteor). Have to agree with TC. That "Promotional msgs sent monthly" sounds a bit dodgy.

well by that logic, why have a mobile phone at all when you can use the house phone. it'll be handy for those strange people (me not included) who occasionally stray away from their pc. freaks :D i don't see people doing it though because of the hassle of connecting each time. and the whole promotional messages thing sounds very dodgy

meteor gives 300 msgs a month too btw

The hassle of connecting to GPRS ... sometimes 30 seconds to a whole minute ... buy a text bundle and pay the 5c imo.

or move to meteor and pay nothing (provided the people you are texting have been smart enough to do the same). evil laugh
