We, well most of us will, vote in the next general election. According to the recent polls most of us (not me of course) will vote Fianna Fail. You will be voting For Benchmarking Bertie, a half educated throwback to a different age. Don’t forget that Bertie let the church off the hook big time when he decided that we the tax payers will pick up (most of the) tab for the perverts that abused the children in their “care”. I am of course talking about the monsters and sexual perverts, i.e. “Christian brothers” and biggest joke of all “oblates of the Blessed virgin Mary”. Were our ancestors all mad? We decided to let these lunatics rule us instead of becoming members of the reformed church. We as paddies deserve what we get, but the unfortunate children who were beaten and tortured by these monsters did not. OUT THEM NOW, all ex members of these sex abuse “orders”. And to HELL with the ridiculous gob**s hit who makes excuses for them, Benchmarking Bertie. OUT ALL EX MEMBERS OF “RELIGIOUS ORDERS” (who abused children) especially “Christian brothers” or Oblates of the Blessed Virgin Mary” maybe they are living close to you as decent members of society, believe me they are not, they are dangerous perverts, OUT THEM!

And here was me thinking from the thread title that this would be about our Taoiseach being exposed as a member of a S&M ring which beat it's members with benches.

Well it was partly the governments (the governments at the time) fault for letting it happen in the first place and societies fault for letting children go to such institutions. I agree with the rest of your post, in regards making those that inflicted harm on children pay.

Id vote for Bertie again though. I cant see any difference between him and the other contenders (except for Sinn Fein and Joe higgans)

OP, you picked a very appropriate nick.

Nice rant, btw. You really should keep taking the tablets.

As I pick up my cheque from my SSIa next year I will be giving mighty praise to Charlie McC and the FF'ers. And I'll be thanking them with a no.1 preference vote. keep up the great work lads.

You see, that's exactly what's wrong with this country. Even though they're all pertty much as bad as each other, there's no way that the current government should be rewarded for all the cockups they've made and money they've wasted.

That's the way politics has been moving for the last few decades. Most of the bigger parties are moving towards the centre to get as big a catchment of the votes as they can and so they don' alienate anyone

I agree with the OP in many respects but I feel the parents of the children who created them in the first place should be ultimately responsible. Think of the state of chaos there would be if everyone had kids and left the state to mop up the mess. The state did what they thought best as the time as regards looking after abandoned kids, the big mistake was not to police the religious orders that looked after them. It wasn't very long ago that the religious orders were looked at as pillars of society and therefore unquestionable but as we see today these societies were only run by human beings not gods and there is always a percentage who abuse their situation.
As regards Bertie Ahern and friends, I certainly wouldn't vote for them in a million years. They're a bunch of incompetents, not worthy of their position, in fact I would go so far to say that they are an embarrassment to most decent people with their "f**k you" attitude and "we'll do what we want" approach to everything. What the hell its only tax payers money and we can screw them for some more when we f**k things up.

I sense a theme going on here...

OP, have you heard of the term "obsession"?

I'll get over issues like the slates on the Aquuatic Centre. The economy is flying, the Northern Ireland problem has changed beyond belief while FF were in power, so I certainly wouldn't vote for a change.

If these really are his policies Ill vote for Blueshirt if he runs :)

Im not voting FF. Nothing to do with the church, as I really dont think Bertie has done an awful lot of bad in relaion to the scandals. Rather its FFs failure to control house prices.

It hardly matters anyway, I dont even think Im registered:D Is it my memory confusing it with something else or nowadays do you have to present yourself at the local Garda station and go through a load of red tape?

Cant be arsed with that, this sh1t country will only re elect FF anyway.

I always looked at the government and religious order argreement as fair. The state allowed the religious orders to do the work the government wasn't alble to do. There was a link between the church and state when it came to taking care of the under priveldge. You can blame the orders all you like but the government were equally to blame. I think peple undersetemate what the religious orders still provide which had to be protected in order to provide the services.

Didn't your Mammy ever tell ya that there are two things which shouldn't be discussed - religion and politics. You've managed to bring up both in one thread.

It's you never discuss them in a pub not that you never ever discuss them.

Must say I'm surprised Admin have allowed the title to stand - the 'friend of perverts' tags would seem to me to be an invitation to have the board shut down and retractions and apologies all round...
