He's actually on this site from time to time. Usually to defend himself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,246 ✭✭✭✭Riamfada

he probably realised that people only starred at him out of a sort of pitty mashed with hate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭amazingemmet

He was in temple bar on saturday doing his crappy show. He was also selling his dvd something he got fined for before. trading without a licence methinks

    Trading without a licence?

Dosnt that imply somone bought one which i find very unlikely

I have to disagree with that statement. I had no feelings of pity for the guy.

    okay perhaps just anger

Wow, he'll be glad to see he's been so missed...

    LOL

I respect his courage to stand in front of people and try to earn money, but...

    1. His humour is based on insulting people.
    2. He has a very bad attitude.
    3. He seems like a very angry man...

It's possible in real life he is a nice bloke, but his "comedy" and his attitude to people who don't like his comedy leave a very bad taste in my mouth!

/fair play to him if he makes a living from it though

Seen him on occasion when in dublin, find him enjoyable enough, seen his stand up in edinburgh and it was good, though a year later saw him again with the same jokes.

I read something in the (S)Indo recently about him not being allowed back to the Cat Laughs comedy festival in Kilkenny and the journalist said it was a shame...Ha!

no you mis read the jurno said he's a shame. although his dubliners talking like whales in a thousand years was a good one

I thought that he was funny. I never had a problem with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,466 ✭✭✭Blisterman

Yeah, I think he's funny. I just wish he'd come up with new bits from time to time.

Sometimes he's quite funny when I've seen him on the street (never been to one of his shows) ..... and sometimes .... not so funny

I bought his DVD for my sister's birthday.

I still feckin' hate him. I'm not even going to post what he said to me.

saw him on the street before and was funny. then saw him doing his act on tv and thought it was fairly muck tbh

When you see him the first once or twice in town it is quite hilarious. All of you people must be bitter because you got picked out from the audience or something and as for the trading without a license thing, what happens to buskers or poor auld Pat Ingleby selling his books on the side of the street? surely none of them have a license.

Actually no. I had just bought the DVD from him to give to my sister. I was there with my friends, and he stood there insulting us straight to our faces after I bought the dvd. :/
I normally find the funny side of something, but what he said was plain mean.

As someone who's been singled out at one of his shows I have to say its not much fun. Anyone can take a joke but he just destroys you. Not fun at all. My fragile self is in therapy.

Well it is a fact that other peoples misfortune's are among the funniest things one can laugh at. If it wasn't true program's like 'Look who's been framed', 'Kirstys home videos' and so on wouldn't exist.

I saw him in Charles de Gaulles airport in Paris last Sunday, he was acting a bit strange pacing up and down a balcony, I'd like to think he's moved and is now harassing french people, but i'd say he was waiting to catch a flight. Strange man

He's just an arrogant dick head really. I'd say his little Fianna Fail dynasty are really proud that he turned into a rude a$$hole who curses at people on the street after they spent so much money on his education. There's no great thought or observation or even wit behind his humour. It's not even that original, I saw him making fun of Japanese tourists in Templebar because they had cameras and he went on to talk like an Asian with broken English, pronouncing 'R's' like 'L's and the like. Groundbreaking stuff. It reminded me of that cringeful bit in the Simpsons where Krusty was pretending to be Chinese and kept saying 'me so sowry.'

Its been a few months since we've had an 'abuse mcsavage' thread.
These threads always make my day :)
please somebody tell the story of when some guy beat him up :D

*jumps up and down excitedly like a little kid*

I was just about to say! Congrats, ya beat me to the punch, so to speak...
It's indicative of his publicity that threads on him pop up with such regularity tbh. Fair f**ks to 'im.

yeah but it's bad publicity, just because someone has a good deal of publicity around them doesnt mean they should be lauded. Everyone knows who, i dunno, Gary Glitter is, but we don't say fair f*cks to him! By the way, anyone who comes out with that cliche i've gone to the trouble of avoiding is getting a kick up the arse:D

I like the guy - so apparently I'm in a distinct minority. He knows how to push people's buttons, and has the balls to do so. Sure, he could update his material but, christ, at least he isn't another bland, inoffensive comedian for Grannies like Karl Spain.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,963 ✭✭✭SpAcEd OuT

have to agree with NoelRock on this one

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,391 ✭✭✭arbeitsscheuer

    Concur with NoelRock and SpacedOut.

Used to have to go thru Templebar on my way home from school 3 years or so ago, and watched him every so often. His material almost never changed, but I always found it pretty funny tbh. He's got balls. I like that.

funny how McSavage almost always generates the same response every time he appears on the Late Late.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054855813&highlight=mcsavage

Didn't realise he is/was the warm-up act for the audience, probably the reason why he gets on almost yearly

well jeez people of the world must only have 5 different buttons to push 25 times a day daily.
