This is a short photo essay on a lifeboat station. The largest image is 125K. If this is a problem for your connection please let me know and I will reduce them more.
I will post three photos in the next message.

The lifejacket and the wellies both stand out a mile from the rest I think. Especially thew lifejackets. I like the selective DOF and also that the reflective stuff draws your eye immediately to the RNLI writing.

I can see where you were going with a few of the other ones but they don't pop for me, simply because the light is quite flat.

I think the pulley ropey thing has much potential for some interesting close up shots of the rope itself (I've attached a quick crop), and the big heavy bolts and stuff. Looks like some interesting big bolts at the sides there. Overall I find it a little bit busy though.

Thanks for the advice. Yesterday was very dull so I will have to jazz the up somehow.

When it's dull I get very frustrated. But I think the best you can do is take advantage of there not being harsh shadows, and do the close-up thing. Also, since you're better at the people shots, you can use the soft light for some portraits... and they will look good in black and white too.
